The Dubai School Games is an initiative of the Dubai Sports Council in line with the UAE Centennial 2071, that focuses on investing in UAE youth with the vision of helping educational institutions find and nurture Olympic success. Highlighting access to high quality education, a happy cohesive society and a future focused government increasing productivity with a focus on innovation.
In addition, the Dubai School Games incorporates the Sustainable Development Goals and the Agenda 2030, the games aim to promote physical and mental health well-being and recognizes the growing contribution of sport for development and peace. It empowers young people and communities to promote social inclusion and healthy lifestyles.
Ensuring a safe return to competitive school sport in the Emirate of Dubai is fundamental. The Dubai School Games will operate in coherence with the COVID-19 regulations advised by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority. Open to all schools in the emirate that are under the governance of the KHDA, the Dubai School Games will be open to 200 schools both private and public.
The inaugural edition of the Dubai School Games will consist of over 10 different sports events will commence in January 2021 and conclude in June 2021.
