35 teams from 14 different schools and 350 players competed in the Liv. Dubai Schools Games Netball Championships, which began on March 6 and ran until March 9, 2023. This was the second tournament of the season for the championship. The Netball Championship's venue partner, GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis, served as the home of the four-day event. Together with the Liv. Dubai Schools Games team, our partners Liv, Mai Dubai, Go Sport, Aster Hospitals and Clinics, and our technical partner, Pro Physique Sports Services, allowed them to share their extensive experience of the sport.
The Liv. Dubai Schools Games Touch Rugby Championships, which was held last February 27 and ran until March 2, 2023, were declared a success with 10 schools registered with 140 students in attendance. It unintentionally piqued the interest of several ESE Schools, which we all know are part of the football community, during its introduction. We hope that their participation at the tournament's debut will lead to new opportunities and the beginning of something new, and that the touch rugby community will grow as a result.
The two-day programme was a success and came to a successful conclusion with an increase in participants from 90 pupils from 6 schools last year to 120 from 8 schools this year. The maximum number of teams has been achieved since we launch this year's cricket tournament as interest has increased. As a result, we had to give the first 8 teams priority while placing the remaining teams on a reserve list. collaborating with the Liv.Dubai Schools Games team, who received assistance from our respective partners Liv., Go sport, Mai Dubai, Aster hospitals and Clinics. Additionally, our technical and venue partners Vision Cricket Center Vision for the two-part event.
2023 began with an explosive series of football tournaments for the second season, with an incredible turnout. Liv. Dubai Schools Games Football Championships saw 1,536 kids, both boys and girls, register, and they competed from 37 schools. GEMS Schools earned the top two spots in the U13 girls' football championships at the first Liv. Dubai Schools Games, the first tournament of the year 2023 and of term 2. The competition kicked out on January 16th, 2023, at the Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club Stadium in Al Aweer, and it concluded with the U14 Boys at the Al Nasr Club.
